Why Invest in the Area’s Most Affordable PreK – 8th Grade Catholic School Education?
Financial Literacy
“Compound interest is the 8th wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it; he who doesn’t, pays it.” – Albert Einstein
As cash is used less and less in our society and money is unseen and thus misunderstood by younger generations, we are instituting financial literacy into our school’s curriculum starting in the 2023-24 school year. By helping our students become financially literate from a young age, we will help them understand how to manage money and allocate income accordingly, in the form of savings, to avoid financial debt and help them make educated decisions on finances in the future.
In alignment with practicing the principles of moderation and frugality, our new financial literacy program will help our PreK through 8th grade students understand the real value of money, the difference between needs and wants, the true value of things, the instruments of money, how to leverage money by earning (not paying) compounding interest, and how to avoid financial risks and debt that could have long-term consequences.
